Research agenda

Three questions worth opening.

Early work is organized around methods that can be inspected, challenged, and eventually reused by institutions without proprietary research teams.

Stream 01 Methods in development

AlphaScout

What can public filings reveal before consensus catches up?

Research into traceable extraction and comparison of risk language, operating signals, and material changes across public disclosures.

  • SEC filings
  • Source attribution
  • Change detection
Stream 02 Protocol draft

RiskSentinel

Can risk monitoring be rigorous without becoming opaque?

Exploration of explainable portfolio-risk signals, bounded model assistance, and human-readable evidence for institutional stewards.

  • Risk monitoring
  • Explainability
  • Human review
Stream 03 Open question

Institutional protocols

What does responsible quantitative collaboration look like?

Governance patterns for shared research, model scrutiny, data boundaries, and decision authority across public-interest organizations.

  • Governance
  • Model evaluation
  • Open standards

The premise

Access is not the same as accountability.

Powerful models are becoming widely available. Reliable institutional research is not. OpenHedge.org is interested in the harder layer: evidence, governance, reproducibility, and the judgment required to use quantitative systems responsibly.

  1. 01

    Show the work.

Every material claim should point back to a source, method, or reproducible test.

  2. 02

    Name the limits.

Uncertainty, missing data, and model boundaries belong in the result—not in the fine print.

  3. 03

    Keep people in authority.

Models can assist analysis. They do not inherit fiduciary judgment or institutional responsibility.

About the initiative

Built for institutions the market usually asks to buy, not build.

OpenHedge.org is an independent research initiative focused on widening access to serious quantitative methods while preserving the standards that make institutional research trustworthy.

Repository links, research notes, and contribution protocols will be published as individual streams clear reproducibility review.

Research inquiries

Bring a question. Keep the evidence governed.

OpenHedge.org welcomes institutional research requests, methodology review, replication questions, and public-interest collaboration. This public form qualifies the conversation; confidential evidence belongs in a governed research boundary.

Public intake boundary. Do not submit credentials, account numbers, holdings, personally identifiable beneficiary or member data, material nonpublic information, or confidential portfolio material.
